1. A lamp base is too short to contact the bottom terminal of a fuse holder . 2. This quenches any arc in the fuse holder . 3. Traditional diazed fuse holders are made as a conducting metal envelope covered with non-conducting porcelain cover. 4. Put a replacement fuse into your new fuse holder and plug the dead fuse into the car. 5. IEC standards refer to a " fuse " as the assembly of a fuse link and fuse holder . 6. Some are time delayed, slow reacting, or have leads for terminals used in circuits without a fuse holder . 7. Blade type fuses often require the use of a special purpose extractor tool to remove them from the fuse holder . 8. It may happen if a fuse holder was accidentally dropped or someone was using too much force to screw it in. 9. However it's possible ( but not useful ) to screw a DII fuse holder without a fuse in an E27 lamp holder. 10. The removable part of the fuse holder has a small window to allow inspection of the indicator without removal of the fuse.
